As discussed by Power & Motion in their article, “The Future of Hydraulic Systems in Mobile Machinery”, hydraulic systems continue to be the dominant choice for powering excavators, tractors, and other mobile equipment. A survey conducted by Power & Motion found that 93% of industry professionals still consider hydraulics essential due to their unmatched power density compared to electric alternatives.
While electrification is making strides in compact machinery, hydraulics remain the preferred solution for heavy-duty applications. However, the industry is evolving to improve efficiency and digitization, integrating sensors and smart controls into hydraulic systems. According to Ken Baker, CEO of Bailey International, efficiency is a primary focus as manufacturers aim to reduce energy consumption, lower costs, and decrease emissions.
