As reported by ForConstructionPros in their article, “Caterpillar H190 S and H215S Performance Series Hammers”, Caterpillar’s latest hammers are designed to deliver superior power and efficiency. The H190 S and H215S models operate in the 13,000- and 18,000-ft.-lb. impact energy classes, offering 370–530 bpm and 300–520 bpm, respectively. These innovative hammers are ideal for demanding applications, allowing operators to switch between high-frequency/low-power and low-frequency/high-power modes to optimize performance.
Key features include an Auto Stop function to prevent damage by terminating hammering upon material breakthrough, buffering materials to minimize vibration, and a rotatable bushing for quick field servicing. Designed for compatibility with Caterpillar excavators, the H190 S suits models 349 through 374, while the larger H215S is optimized for 374 and 395 models. Both hammers come equipped with a standard onboard autolube system, with optional wear packages available for added durability.
