LiuGong launches new F-Series excavators with electro-hydraulic control, improved cooling

LiuGong has launched its sixth generation of F-series excavators with sizes ranging from 1.8 to over 100 tons.

The company is stressing improvements in technology for its lineup. Those improvements include an electronically controlled hydraulic system designed for better management of flow distribution. An intelligent cooling system that adjusts fan speed to water, oil and intercooler temperatures. The technologies combine to reduce oil consumption by 15 to 20 percent compared to their predecessors and improve operating efficiency, the company says.

LiuGong says it also added “intelligent monitoring, detection, prediction and remote control.” This allows “monitoring of bucket trajectory, construction guidance, assisted excavation, automatic weighing” to improve efficiency and work quality while avoiding repeated operation, the company says. “The excavators also adopt new electronic fence technology that ensures safer construction.”

New models in the F-series include:

The 9018F is the smallest in the lineup at 1.8 tons. It can fit through passages 3.3 feet wide and can be used indoors. It features an adjustable and locked hydraulic system with maximum pump displacement, a load-sensitive hydraulic system, configured variable track and swing-arm deflection, the company says. The engine hood is designed to open for easy maintenance.

The 3-ton 9025F is designed for working narrow spaces with its zero tail swing and swing-arm deflection and can be used indoors. Other features include an adjusted load-sensitive hydraulic system, fully open engine hood for easier maintenance, an open-top closed cab and optional electronically controlled proportional pipelines with adjustable maximum displacement to match different accessories.

Putting a stop to hydraulic leaks

Hydraulic oil leakage is one of the most common hydrocarbon spillages encountered in mining machinery or mining vehicles. Oil spillage on ground leads to contamination of soil and this oil flow can also lead to contamination of nearby water body. Hose sleeves

A hose sleeve can be slipped over the end of the hose assembly and clamped at the ends. These sleeves help in containing the thrust of hose burst protecting the machine and the operator. They also act as a shield for hoses against dirt, dust and sunlight and any external abrasion. Nylon sleeves are commonly used in industry. Komatsu introduces PC2000-11 hydraulic excavator

Komatsu America, the global heavy equipment manufacturer, has introduced the PC2000-11 hydraulic excavator. Equipped with an EPA Tier 4 Final certified engine, the PC2000-11 has more horsepower and a new engine-pump control for faster cycle times and improved multifunction performance.

“The PC2000-11 is designed to load 70- to 200-ton rigid frame haul trucks and is an excellent tool for stripping overburden, loading coal, and loading shot rock,” said Robert Hussey, Product Marketing Manager, Komatsu America. “The PC2000-11 has a simplified power module (cooling package, engine, PTO, and hydraulic pumps) which provides excellent accessibility to major components, low noise levels in the cab, and reduces labour hours when it comes time for planned overhaul.”

KomVision, Komatsu’s all-around machine monitoring system comes standard on the PC2000-11. To increase operator awareness of haul trucks and light vehicles entering and leaving the working area, the 7-camera system provides a full 360-degree bird’s-eye view of the working area on a dedicated 10.4” touch screen monitor.

The PC2000-11 offers improved multifunction performance, and a productivity increase up to 12%, and can therefore load more trucks per shift. The redesigned hydraulic system monitors work equipment loads and optimises hydraulic flow based on operating conditions. The PC2000-11 is equipped with selectable working modes to tailor machine performance to application requirements, including the all new “Power Plus” mode. New Komatsu PC2000-11 excavator gets power boost for loading 200-ton trucks

Komatsu’s new PC2000-11 excavator is designed to load 70- to 200-ton rigid-frame dump trucks faster than its predecessor, boosting productivity up to 12 percent.

To achieve the performance increase, Komatsu gave the new hydraulic excavator a 9 percent increase in power over the PC2000-8, for a total of 1,046 net horsepower, and added a new engine-pump control. The hydraulic system automatically adjusts flow to operating conditions. In heavy-lift mode, the boom attains 10 percent more lifting force. New electronic proportional control valves in the hydraulic system also help increase work speed, according to Komatsu.

The company says it simplified the excavator’s power module, including the engine, hydraulic pumps, cooling package and PTO, to reduce noise and make it easier to access and maintain its major components.

KomVision system that provides a 360-degree bird’s eye view of the work area comes standard, along with the system’s 10.4-inch touchscreen monitor.

The PC2000-11’s specialty is stripping overburden, loading coal and shot rock, the company says. The company gave the boom stronger, thicker plates and castings and strengthened track and center frames. Carrier rollers are larger, and seals have been improved, the company says.

The engine achieves Tier 4 Final emissions compliance with no diesel exhaust fluid or selective catalytic reduction, instead relying on Komatsu dual diesel particulate filters. The engine also features auto-idle and auto-idle-shutdown to conserve fuel.

New Multi-Opening 600 Ton Hydraulic Press Comes with Color Touchscreen Operator Interface

French Oil Mill Machinery Company recently designed and built a multi opening, 600 ton hydraulic press system for rubber molding applications.

The new hydraulic press design features eight openings for compression molding of multiple rubber products each cycle, increasing production rates. The large heated press platens, each 48 x 54 inches, were drilled and welded to create a serpentine pattern for steam circulation. Each platen has a thermo-couple and individual steam control valve to control the temperature of each platen, accommodating for losses or increased load.

The hydraulic system consists of a self-contained oil hydraulic unit with a steel constructed reservoir with hydraulic pump combination driven by an energy efficient motor. The pump and motor combination allow fast closing, opening and adjustable press tonnage.

The compression press control system is a microprocessor-based system, designed to improve quality transfer through better processing accuracy, repeatability, versatile process control programming and monitoring of data for analysis. The system is simple to use and easily utilized. Components of the system include a NEMA-type enclosure with a small operator panel, an Allen Bradley PLC with a color touchscreen operator interface and various press pushbuttons for operation.
