Function: Battery Supervisor

The battery voltage is monitored each second. If 8 consecutive readings are below the preset value then a 60 second timer starts and an audio alarm and visual indicator appear. The audio alarm is a chirping sound to differentiate from major faults. After 60 seconds a signal is sent to open a latching relay controlling the accessory circuit, shutting down the accessories. The system is reset by restarting the engine. If the voltage rises during the alarm period above the set point, the timer is reset for 60 seconds. With the engine running, all functions of the Battery Supervisor are the same as when the engine is not running except after a time out the accessories are not disconnected.
